Noel has an impressive track record of creating a sustainable culture where employees get excited and engaged around continuous improvement. It’s his philosophy, it’s his passion and it delivers results.
The contribution that Noel has done in supporting both national & international organisations with their Lean / Shingo Programs over the past ten years is nothing short of phenomenal, Noel’s contribution is one of the main reasons why Ireland currently has more Shingo Accredited Company’s per capita than any other country in the world.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with Noel over the last decade or so in the area of Enterprise Excellence. He has a vast knowledge of the subject and has demonstrated an ability to apply theory to practice, most notably by managing the Lake Region site to Shingo recognition in 2012 & 2015. Noel is a tremendous advocate of engaging employees at all levels in continuous improvement and has presented on this theme at numerous Industry events and Conferences to great acclaim
I think what makes Noel stand out as a very effective transformational leader is his engaging style and ability to demystify the principles of lean manufacturing in a manner that employees at all levels of the organisation can relate to.
Noel has assisted us greatly in the past when we were launching the lean transformation programme at Waters Technologies (Ireland) Ltd. His enthusiasm for all things C.I. is infectious and his practical insights and hands on experience were invaluable as they prevented us from making some common mistakes and ensured any systems we implemented were user-friendly and added real value to our business.
Noel is well-known throughout Ireland, as well as internationally, as one of the leading Irish-based pioneers of Lean, Operational Excellence and the Shingo Model. He is also renowned here and abroad as a subject matter expert and practitioner of employee engagement in a continuous improvement environment.
As CI Director, Noel led Lake Region Medical’s Shingo challenge to become the first European Medical Device company to attain Shingo accreditation. Noel has been, and remains, a key contributor to our various events and activities at WIT, including our ongoing Lean Practitioner Seminar Series and our hugely successful Annual WIT Lean Enterprise Excellence Forum – one of the largest Lean Conference in Europe. Noel also contributes regularly as a guest speaker on our Lean & OpEx executive/practitioner programmes.
He is a hugely engaging, enjoyable, and highly sought-after speaker, and has the great gift of making CI, Lean, and employee engagement relatable for all audiences. Noel has vast knowledge, know-how, and experience, and it is great to know that other individuals and organisations will continue to benefit from his new role as a consultant and trainer enabling managers, supervisors, and operatives to add value within their organisations and by ensuring effective knowledge transfer to assist them advance on their Lean journeys.
Having worked very closely with Noel for over 11 years in my capacity as Production Manage at Lake Region Medical I can honestly say that in my 25 years of production management experience I have never encountered a more passionate advocate of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.
Noel’s greatest strength is his ability to engage employees in the C.I. process by making it an interesting & enjoyable experience which delivers real value to the organisation. In my opinion Noel is a world class authority on Lean, and I am convinced that all of the major improvement successes along Lake Region’s lean journey would not have been possible without the enthusiasm, professional support & leadership he provided as the site C.I. Champion.
